Brothers,
When we look at the Fraternal order of Knights, we think of meetings and ceremonies , and life insurance . If we look at our Mission Statement, it goes much deeper then that with a much deeper purpose. Fr Michael J McGivney did not intend to just have fraternal meetings as a social event. It was started for the purpose to help the the persecuted and those in need of help both financially and spiritually.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS IS A CATHOLIC FRATERNAL ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO PROMOTING AND CONDUCTING EDUCATIONAL, CHARITABLE, RELIGIOUS AND SOCIAL WELFARE WORKS, RENDERING MUTUAL AID AND ASSISTANCE TO SICK AND NEEDY MEMBERS AND THEIR FAMILIES, AND PROVIDING INSURANCE PRODUCTS AND ANNUITIES TO BENEFIT MEMBERS, WIVES AND CHILDREN.
This is what we are about. So if we know that someone or some group or benefiting organization is in need of help, we try to jump in with physical and financial help . In running all our fund raising events not only helps others but instills a good friendship with others.
Searching for new brothers, is not a game of competition for awards, it goes deeper. When we know of a worthy person who can fill the shoes of a Knight, it is our obligation to invite them to join. Not by pushing but by caring and follow up to let them see what we stand for and do.
So always continue to look for new worthy members for the right reasons.
